Location: Next to Port Ghalib marina; about 5 minutes from Marsa Alam airport and approximately

Overall guest reviews on TripAdvisor and HolidayCheck have been mostly positive –

ON THE BEACH AND SEA

“Whilst I am not a diver any more due to a damaged ear drum I still love to go snorkeling which can also be done from one of the many diving boats. The Red Sea is amazing and a great experience and the guys from the dive shop really knew where we could go to see some exciting things.”
( TripAdvisor.com SirKingfisher 15 July 2013 )

“The beach lies about three minutes walk down a footpath from the hotel. There is also a free bus service available.  The sunbeds, as well as the cushions were all in good condition however if the hotel is fully occupied, there would not have been enough.”
( HolidayCheck.com Sabine November 2011 )

ON THE ROOMS

“The rooms are spacious, tidy and the toilet is clean however you are looking for a toilet brush in vain. The rooms are with balconies with a good view over the hotel complex and, depending on the location, either a sea or harbour view.  The rooms come equipped with a television on which you can even find German channels.”
( HolidayCheck.com Christine March 2013 )

“The room were clean and decorated with the obligatory towel sculptures……the elephant and the camel and the crocodile took the art to a new level.”
( TripAdvisor.com 22 May 2012 )

“The room is stunning and spacious with a lovely shower room and powerful shower.  Free safe, also mini bar.  The bed is changed daily and room cleaned.”
( TripAdvisor.com 13 May 2012 )

“Rooms are planned in a way that you share only one wall with a neighbour and you don’t hear them at all and you can’t see them from your balcony.  The rooms are clean and I liked the rustic style interior.  The TV has 20 or more programs.”
( TripAdvisor.com 4 April 2012 )

“The nicely decorated rooms are very clean and comfortable, towels changed every day, lovely walk in showers.  If there is a problem in the room it is dealt with immediately.”
( TripAdvisor 22 February 2012 )

ON THE STAFF

“Hospitality is really big here. All the staff were attentive, helpful and super friendly… even if the English skills were sufficient only – but all our wishes were read from our eyes.”
( TripAdvisor.com Joey75hh 11 July 2013 )

“The waiter was very attentive, bringing hot water for my coffee so that I could enjoy my own brew.  He also kept filling my water glass which was a nice touch.”
( TripAdvisor.com 8 March 2012 )

“For us, the staff made our holiday, they were lovely, genuine people, and we have become friends with many of them.”
( TripAdvisor.com 22 February 2012 )

“The staff were friendly and helpful”
( HolidayCheck.com Adrian October 2011 )

“All staff very friendly and attentive. Only tip I would give is not to try so hard with the entertainment – it was just nice to relax with a cool beer.”
( TripAdvisor.com 1 April 2012 )

ON THE POOL

“Nice pool area with comfy sunbeds, but the pool is not heated; it was 22C – colder than the sea at 23C, and essentially making it unusable for us.”
( TripAdvisor.com 7 May 2012 )

ON THE WATER TAXI

Linking the hotel with Port Ghalib marina

“The water taxis which used to run every 10 to 15 minutes now is down to one every hour, and if there are too many people it will leave you behind.”
( TripAdvisor.com AnnieFrost 12 July 2013 )

“The water taxi schedule was a bit erratic which is why I put only four stars (out of five) for location.  I think a board with a timetable would be good.”
( TripAdvisor.com 8 March 2012 )

ON THE FOOD

“The food was excellent, more than enough choice. One day I was a little late for dinner and they were already cleaning up. The chef instantly offered to make me a pasta, although it was my fault for being too late…  There is always fresh fruit at breakfast, lunch and dinner. And a lot of choices. It’s amazing.”
( TripAdvisor.com Lynn W 24 June 2013 )

“The food is beautifully cooked, but could do with perhaps a little more choice.  The chefs are very friendly and accommodating.”
( TripAdvisor.com 13 May 2012 )

“The food was repetitive but tasty…..The first time after several vacations in Egypt that we had no stomach problem !”
( HolidayCheck.com Petra December 2011 )

“The main restaurant offers at certain times breakfast, lunch, afternoon cakes and dinner.  The meals were well prepared and varied.  Pasta dishes were prepared fresh in front of the guest. Unfortunately there was not much oriental food although a good European selection.”
( HolidayCheck Sabine November 2011 )

“A highlight was the really good bread of all varieties, which was very surprising.”
( HoliayCheck.com Adrian October 2011 )

OVERALL

“The evaluation of this hotel depends on your expectations…. The rooms and lobby and so on are rather simple but very clean…  all employees are friendly and tried hard, but missing many language skills.”
